Dominique was the son of Joseph dit Liguenoff Arseneau (15 Apr 1744-21 Nov 1833) from Malpeque, Prince Edward Island and Marie Richard (15 Apr 1750-????) from Louisbourg, Acadie (Nova Scotia).

Barbe was the daughter of Joseph dit Jos Magitte Arsenault and Marie-Jeanne Bourgeois.

Dominique and Barbe married about 1805. They lived in Rustico, Prince Edward Island. In 1816 or 1817, they moved to Egmont Bay, Prince Edward Island.

Dominique and Barbe both died in and are buried in Egmont Bay.

Note the 1849 double wedding of the two youngest with the Gallant family.

Children

Judith Arsenault (~1806-????)

Currently unsure whether Judith was a daughter of this family, or a second wife of Urbain. She appeared with him in the 1881 census, but it listed him as widowed.

Urbain Arsenault (~1808-1901)

Urbain married Marguerite Arsenault (1814-????), daughter of Hilaire & Angelique Arsenault, in 1830. Their children:

Joseph (16 May 1832-14 Dec 1903) — m. Eulalie Arsenault on 27 Sep 1853; m. Sara Longupee on 4 Nov 1873

Usebe (21 Jan 1834-26 Apr 1895) — m. Marie Bastarache on 7 Jan 1836

Sylvain (17 Feb 1836-????) — m. Sophie Poirier on 3 Nov 1858

François Urbain (2 Apr 1839-19 Jan 1929) — m. Marie Gaudet on 24 Mar 1865

Jean (10 May 1846-????)

Usebe’s parentage is in dispute.

Urbain might have married someone named Judith after Marguerite died. Or, Judith might have been his sister. He died in 1901, and is buried in St. Jacques Cemetery, Prince Edward Island.

Eucharistes “Calixte” Arsenault (1813-1895)

Calixte has his own entry in the family tree.
