Moïse was the son of Louis dit Louison Doiron dit Gould and Marie Bonnevie dit Beaumont of Franklin Manor, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.

Brigitte was the daughter of Joseph Saulnier (~1746-28 Feb 1802) & Félécité Bastarache Basque (~1756-27 Oct 1819), who married about 1776 in Shippagan, New Brunswick and lived in Tracadie, New Brunswick.

Moïse & Brigitte married in Tracadie, New Brunswick on 29 May 1812. (Careful: There is a Tracadie, Nova Scotia as well.) There is a story that Moïse was imprisoned during 1812-1814 for being part of the Tracadie militia.
